4.23 Stuake/Donoughmore<br />

4.23.1 The vision for Stuake/Donoughmore is to secure a modest increase in the population of the settlement, to retain and<br />

improve local services and facilities and to expand these facilities where appropriate.<br />

Within the development boundary encourage the development of up to 5 additional dwelling units<br />

during the plan period.<br />

Encourage additional retail and services in the village commensurate with the scale of the village.<br />

Village Centre Development. There is a derelict site close to Stuake village core that presents an<br />

opportunity for redevelopment. Appropriate uses on site include limited convenience retailing or<br />

business uses.<br />

New development should be sensitively designed and planned to provide for the protection of<br />

green infrastructure assets of the village and will only be permitted where it is shown that it is<br />

compatible with the requirements of nature conservation directives and with environmental,<br />

biodiversity and landscape protection policies as set out in Volume One Main Policy Material and<br />

Volume Two Heritage and Amenity.<br />
