To the outside world Kythnos is relatively
unknown but to the Greeks it makes for a
great Island getaway. Its proximity to Athens
means the tends to attract mainly Greek visitors
local for a quick break. Kythnos is naturally
beautiful, home to some elegant architecture,
and welcoming locals.
Getting in and Getting Around
There is no airport on Kythnos so the only way in
is via ferry from Piraeus or Lavrion (southwest
of Athens), the journey takes less than three
hours.
The easiest way to get around Kythnos is by
renting a car however the buses can take you
to all the main places.
