Subject: Re: CED Digest Vol. 2 No. 15
Mime-Version: 1.0
Here's an interesting story of what I found at the flea market yesterday.
One of the large indoor spaces had a bunch of CED's stacked on a table,
plus there was an old Zenith TV with a player actually hooked up to it
and playing! There was a stereo in the building playing a radio station,
I wanted to ask them to hook the CED player up to it!
Out of a ton of discs (lots of good titles) I only found one I didn't
have already, Monty Python's Life of Brian, but I saw something that
REALLY would've wrecked my whole day- I saw the Duran Duran music video
album, a disc that had been on my "Holy Grail" list a long time til I
finally found one, this was only the second one I'd ever seen. The cover
had the name and the picture of the group X'd out with a felt pen and
written in big letters "F--- Duran Duran" and note that the caddy
actually contained The Who Rocks America. First time I'd ever seen a CED
defaced in such a way, needless to say if that'd been the first time I'd
found the Duran Duran disc I would have been EXTREMELY devastated!
The same place had a big space selling mostly video games, but there was
a shelf with video tapes on it too. I found 3 Beta tapes that were Zenith
dealer sales training tapes from 1979, one was titled Video Recorder
Selling Points and another was Black and White TV Selling Points. I got
real excited til I noticed the erase-protect holes were covered upsomeone
had taped over all of them!!!!! I just about died right there;
anybody have unruined copies of these tapes they could copy for me?
Subject: CED player #3 / Jane Fonda Workout.
Well, I ended up getting another player and a CED at a flea market for
$3.00. Now I have 3 players..... Yipee..... The new player is a SJT - 090
and the movie is "Jane Fonda's Workout". My wife likes it, I thought it was
kind of weird. I like the fact that it's dual channel and that you can switch
between words and music or just music on a stereo player. I might just
copy the music off of it for myself, it's a catchy tune.
The SJT - 090 player that I bought works but it's really dusty inside. I plan
on cleaning it before any massive use. The guy bought it years ago and
rented movies for it but only had the Jane Fonda CED that came with the
