CAP President shares
hopes for the new year
The following is a letter from Keith Lutz, president of
the Association, to the CAP members:
Dear Fellow Carwash Professionals,
Friends and Colleagues:
The start of any new year brings with it a hope for change,
advancement, and growth. Combine this with the fact that
2021 was not a magical “reset” we were hoping for coming
off of 2021. So for many reasons, I think we can all say
that we look to 2022 with a renewed hope of progress while
also celebrating the obstacles we continue to overcome as
an industry.
Foremost, I wish to recognize and celebrate the recipient
of CAP’s Carwasher of the Year Award, Josh Lindsay of
WetGo Car Wash (Northwest PA). Josh embodies the passion
and energy that makes the carwash industry great!
He has advanced his career with WetGo over the years,
helping them open new locations and providing exceptional
customer service every step along the way. In his words, “I
know I’ve had a positive impact on a guest’s day when I see
a smile on their face!” Congratulations, Josh!
CAP is also looking forward to again hosting various networking
events this year, which includes our annual baseball
outing, dinner and tabletop show, and golf outing fundraiser
and picnic. Specific dates will be confirmed soon, so please

New York State Car Wash Association
New Yorkers enjoy a game at Citi Field
The Association recently stated that despite a rainout
on May 28, the New York State Car Wash Association
(NYSCWA) was able to move its annual Mets Event to
September 17. The Mets took on the Philadelphia Phillies
at Citi Field in Flushing Meadows/Corona Park, New
York. The game, according to the NYSCWA, saw the
Mets fight back from an early lead by the Phillies, and unfortunately,
their efforts fell short with a 4-3 loss to Philadelphia.
“Every time we come to Citi Field, it’s exciting
and a really great day for our members and their families,”

miss this event, and I’m so thankful we were able to hold

COVID restrictions limited the number of attendees
in the Porsche Party Suite to 35, but that did not dampen
everyone’s excitement at being back together and enjoying
America’s greatest pastime, a statement read. “I’ve
been involved in this event for more years than I care to
remember, and every year it brings a smile to my face,”
said Event Coordinator Mike Benmosche. “You couldn’t
ask for a better venue. And you couldn’t ask for a better
group of operators in which to enjoy it.”
