We hustled and made
it here in September of
2020.
Franky and myself are both part of
the same group of ecommerce sellers,
the “Million Dollar Sellers or MDS”, that had visited
Dorado back in 2018. The group has grown to about
500 sellers that are scattered about all over the world.
We began posting photos and videos of our trips to
Palmas in our private Facebook group the moment we
knew the move was happening. Each of us spent the
next 3 months fielding phone calls from friends in the
group who were curious about our decision to move.
We’d answer their questions and then share Lee and
Patrick’s video shortly after the conversation. By September,
9 more friends from our group had been convinced
that living in the Caribbean, a golf cart ride away
from friends was the life they wanted as well. By the
end of the year, all of them had packed up and sold everything
and moved their families to Palmas to join us
in the community. The number has grown to about 15
today, only slowing due to limited real estate inventory
and house prices that make it a bigger decision today.
It takes a fearless and adventurous individual to sell
everything they own, say goodbye to the comforts and
certainty of an established life and move their family to
the other side of the earth at the height of a worldwide
pandemic. But that’s what we did and in doing so, we
have found an incredible tribe of like-minded game
changers who have also taken
that leap of faith. Embarking
upon this adventure
has led us to a place we are
proud to call home and we
can’t imagine building a life
and raising our family anywhere
else. If someone were
to tell me that 3 years after
joining MDS, I would live on
a tropical Caribbean Island
in the same neighborhood
as 15 amazing MDS families
and hundreds of other entrepreneurs,
I never would have
believed it. But fast forward
and here we are!
Today, we spend our time
enjoying the lush backyard
and pool area that Ivan from
Pura Vida remodeled last year. We have been exploring
the island and have joined various interest groups in
our community. Our two daughters Charlie (age 10) and
Emma (age 6) are currently homeschooled and will likely
attend The Palmas Academy in the future.
With such a vibrant and welcoming community, we’re
excited to see what the future has in store for Palmas
Del Mar. s
