the PRESIDENT SAYS!
PHA IS FORMED BY ALL OF US OWNERS
PALMAS DEL MAR HOMEOWN-
ERS ASSOCIATION (PHA) exists for
the homeowners. The certificate
of incorporation states that PHA is
a non-for-profit corporation which
was created “to provide and ensure
for the preservation of values and
amenities and to own, maintain and
administer the common properties,
services and facilities in the Palmas
del Mar Community”.
PHA is formed by all of us owners
and there can’t be any issue as to
the real purpose of PHA. PHA is us,
working for us and having us as the
objective. In doing so the preservation of values and
amenities is a primary obligation. That is why PHA in
addition to maintaining its property has in place agreements
with the city of Humacao which authorize us to
provide maintenance to public property. PHA does that
because the preservation of the quality of life in Palmas
is our primary goal.
For the past year I have had the benefit of a dream
team by my side. I have worked side by side with Mr.
Enrique Alejandro, Mr. Miguel Santiago, Mr. Jorge Manrique
and Mr. Tony Maldonado. Mr. Alejandro is a certified
public accountant and finance expert with over 38
years of experience in the industry; Mr. Santiago is an
engineer and founding father of our ARB; Mr. Manrique
is an attorney with over 45 years of experience and Mr.
Maldonado was our past Executive Director. I can assure
you that they as the PHA Board’s Executive Committee
have given their best and will continue to do so if
they are given the opportunity.
These lines are to be published after the 2022 Homeowners
Week and the election process to be conducted
by the PHA Board (Class A and B members) for the
board positions. It is my wish that all the PHA Board
members at the time of the election of the Board President,
Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer put the
community first. If not remember that we the owners are
the members of PHA and therefore PHA exists because
of us. The quote of PHA Certificate of Incorporation
article fifth has the keyword community. In that sense
that is why we must defend our community. PHA cannot
become the promoter of other interests which are
not the community’s interest. We as homeowners must
join together and defend ourselves and our community.
Therefore, we must move forward and participate. PHA
needs its homeowners and we as homeowners need a
strong PHA to defend us.
Letter of Intent
PHA announces that a “Letter of Intent” has been signed
with the companies Siemens and Ensysa to explore the
viability of more efficient, cleaner and cheaper alternatives
to produce energy. This first step is aimed at studying
and developing what eventually would be our energy
“grid.” “The aim is for Palmas del Mar to have an independent
source of energy in a production field with clean
and modern resources that in turn translate into monetary
savings on our bills,” said Lic. Erasmo Reyes, president
of Palmas Homeowners Association during the signing of
the agreement of intent, an agreement that aims to study
the viability of this project. This study should be completed
within approximately 12 to 14 months. s
