George F. Weickert, Jr., 86
1935 - 2022
LYNNFIELD - George F. Weickert,
Jr. age 86 of Lynnfield, died Thursday,
June 2 at the Sawtelle Family
Hospice House in Reading.
Born in Hamilton, Ohio on August
21, 1935 he was one of four
children of the late George F. and
Catherine Rigling Weickert. George
was raised in Hamilton, Ohio and
received a degree in engineering
from General Motors Institute in
Flint, Michigan. He moved to Illinois
to work at Sundstrand Corporation
in Rockford where he spent nearly
his entire engineering career.
His hobbies were fishing, camping,
canoeing, leatherwork, square
dancing and carpentry. He was a
notable bass in the church choir
as well.
In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by his first
wife Mary Lou Weickert (Cheney),
his youngest son Dennis Weickert,
and his granddaughter Jennifer
Lynn Brown. He is survived by
his siblings, JoAnne Fluegeman,
James Weickert and Robert Weickert.
He was the beloved husband of
Margaret A. Duggan Guilford Weickert.
He was the loving father of
Michael Weickert and his wife Anita
of CA, George Weickert III of CO,
Christopher Weickert and his wife
Elaine of Illinois, Margaret “Meg”
Soliz and her husband Rene of IL,
and Mary Brown and her late husband
Jeff of TX. He was the grandfather
of Marika, Lisa, Charles,
Rachel, Madeline, Hannah, Isaac,
Nathaniel, Michaela, Ana, August

Service Information: His Funeral
Mass will be celebrated
in St. Maria Goretti Church,
112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield on
Thursday, June 9 at 11am. Visitation
for relatives and friends
will be held at the church prior
to the mass from 10 to 11a.m.
Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery,
Lynnfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations
in George’s name may be made
to St. Maria Goretti Church,

Patricia A. (Geary) Moore, 87
1935 - 2022
LYNNFIELD - Patricia A. (Geary)
Moore, 87, of Lynnfield, Massachusetts,
passed away on June 1
after a period of declining health.
She was the beloved wife of James
H. Moore (Jim), with whom she
would have celebrated their 65th
wedding anniversary this summer.
Patricia was born in Lynn, Massachusetts
on March 27, 1935.
She was the daughter of the late
Francis P. and Ella L. (Mahoney)
Geary. She was raised and educated
in Lynn, having attended
Sacred Heart Elementary School
and graduating from Lynn Classical
High School in 1952. Following
high school, Patricia attended
Chandler Secretarial School. She
then went on to earn her Associate’s
Degree from North Shore
Community College in 1978, and
she graduated Cum Laude from
UMass Boston with a Bachelor of
Arts in 1980.
Patricia, alongside her husband,
designed and built their house
in Lynnfield in 1967, where they
raised their family and spent 55
wonderful years. Before starting
her family, Patricia took on administrative
roles at General Electric
and Morris Gordon Law Firm; and
while raising her family, Patricia
worked alongside her husband at
his advertising typography firm, Typographic
House in South Boston,
helping serve the firm’s corporate
clients throughout the U.S.. Most
recently, she served as the administrative
manager for the North
Shore Women in Business Association.
Patricia and Jim knew how to
keep busy. They loved to travel
all over the world, touching down
in over thirty countries across five
continents; and they were avid skiers,
spending countless weekends
at their ski home in North Conway,
New Hampshire, and riding chairs
lifts and gondolas at ski resorts
across the U.S. and Europe. They
were avid jazz fans as well, traveling
throughout Massachusetts
and New England in pursuit of top
jazz performances.
Playing tennis, playing bridge,
and family were among Patricia’s
other passions. Up until the last
couple years of her life, she could
be found on the tennis court four
times a week. When off the court,
she could be found sitting down at
the most competitive Bridge tables
across the US accumulating and
adding to her Master Point totals,
or running around with her grandchildren
who learned to live by the
motto “what happens at Nana’s
stays at Nana’s”. Needless to say,
she was always on the go.
Patricia was extremely proud of
her Irish Catholic heritage, never
losing sight of her faith. She served
as a member of the Parish Council
at Our Lady of the Assumption
Church in Lynnfield for many years.
Besides her loving husband,
she is survived by her children,
Paul R. Moore of Melrose, Cristen
T. Moore-Abdow and her husband,
David Abdow of Boston; her grandchildren,
Lucy Moore Abdow, Colin
James Abdow; her sister-in-law,
Regina Geary; and many nieces,
nephews, and friends. She was
predeceased by a son, James P.
Moore; and her siblings Sister Ella
Francis, CSJ (Claire L.), John L.
Geary and his wife Joan, and Paul
F. Geary.
Service Information: Visitation
will be held on Thursday,
June 9 from 4-8 PM at the Solimine
Funeral Home, 426 Broadway
(Rt. 129) in Lynn. Her funeral
mass will be held on Friday,
June 10, at 10 AM at Our Lady
of the Assumption Church, 14
Grove St., Lynnfield. Memorial
donations may be made to the
