What a jam-packed edition<br />
we have for you with lots of<br />
inspiration to keep you busy<br />
this summer.<br />
There are lots of festivals taking place in both<br />
Rotherham and Barnsley with everything from<br />
brass bands to baby dinosaurs and even a<br />
festival dedicated to women.<br />
We also have ideas for places to visit in South<br />
Yorkshire and how you can save money when<br />
spending time at local attractions.<br />
This year, we have been overwhelmed<br />
by the response to the sports features we<br />
have published. So, to keep on the ball<br />
we once again share with you stories from<br />
South Yorkshire. The biggest sporting event<br />
this summer is the Women’s EURO which<br />
Rotherham is a proud host venue of.<br />
It was great to catch up with Val Hoyle, a true<br />
ambassador for the women’s game, to hear<br />
about how she started what is now known as<br />
Rotherham United Women FC when she was<br />
just a 12-year-old schoolgirl. Val’s story is also a<br />
part of a new exhibition at Clifton Park Museum<br />
that looks at the history of women and girl’s<br />
football in Rotherham.<br />
As ever we feature the independent<br />
businesses where you can find inspiration for<br />
updating your wardrobe and places to relax and<br />
enjoy a little me time.<br />
