The Glass Works
1st Birthday
Saturday 10th September 10am-4pm
To celebrate one year since opening, The Glass
Works is joining forces with The Civic to present
a day of spectacular dance, circus and outdoor
arts performed by some of the UK’s leading and
most exciting outdoor performances.
This family friendly festival is free
to attend and includes:
Out of the Deep Blue
by Autin Dance Theatre
Out of the Blue tells the story
of Eko, a four-metre-tall sea giant
who rises from the deep ocean and
encounters a little girl called Violet.
An impactful dialogue around our
earth’s climate emergency told
through dance, movement and
masterful puppeteering.
High Tea with a
Twist by Levantes Dance
Dressed to impress, a pair of
dancers will perform dance and
acrobatics above a tastefully laid tea
table and mingle with the crowd for
selfies and a cuppa. Expect glittery
cakes, outrageous costumes and
theatrical high jinks in an explosion
of bright colour and silliness.
Timeless by Joli Vyan
Watch as four performers dance,
leap, gracefully balance and throw
themselves with acrobatic prowess
around, on and inside a rotating
seven-metre-high hourglass.
Timeless tells the story of civilisation
as we know it and its fragile
relationship with time and nature.
Mayfly by Kapow
Inspired by the brief life of the
Mayfly and its famous last dance,
Kapow have created a customengineered
structure incorporating
five fountains that shoot water into
the air in sync with two awe-inspiring
dancers
