Ashik is a young Dubai<br />
based abstract artist who<br />
moved to <strong>the</strong> Emirates<br />
from India around 8 years<br />
back and developed her career.<br />
She is known for fusion of metallic<br />
textured abstracts and calligraphy.<br />
For Sumaira abstracts was an<br />
expression of art. Us<strong>in</strong>g materials<br />
such as model<strong>in</strong>g paste, palette<br />
knives and pa<strong>in</strong>t scrapers allow her<br />
to build layers, texture and contrast<br />
to give a 3d view to each work.<br />
The artist likes to create mixed<br />
media abstracts as well as<br />
fluid abstracts us<strong>in</strong>g<br />
m<strong>in</strong>imal as well as<br />
heavy textures.<br />

with her passion for<br />

For last five years, her passion has<br />
helped her to enhance residential<br />
and commercial <strong>in</strong>terior with a<br />
bespoke piece of contemporary<br />
artwork. She worked directly with her<br />
clients, as well as <strong>in</strong>terior designers.<br />
She uses to participate <strong>in</strong> local art<br />
markets such as Ripe and Arte.<br />

Arabic calligraphy designs which<br />

designs are present around <strong>the</strong><br />
emirates, as her products are be<strong>in</strong>g<br />
used <strong>in</strong> eleven stores of Home box<br />
all over <strong>the</strong> UAE and altoge<strong>the</strong>r 37<br />
stores <strong>in</strong> GCC.<br />

Apart from self-taught artist she<br />
is now tutor at <strong>the</strong> workshop Dubai,<br />
Jumeirah. S<strong>in</strong>ce last two years she<br />
has conducted 15-20 workshops <strong>in</strong><br />
both abstract as well as basic Arabic<br />
calligraphy. She believes that this<br />
Emirates has an important role <strong>in</strong><br />
achiev<strong>in</strong>g her success. United Arab<br />
