2 What can I expect? As a client of Stepping Stones Palliative Concierge Services, you will have a variety of options available to you. We can help you set up a comfortable and safe space at home where you will be supported by our team, which consists of nurses, PSWs and a palliative physician, so that you can focus your remaining time on your loved ones. Or, if you prefer to be cared for in a facility, we can assist you with available options and navigate the referral process. I love the October fall colours as they start to splash across the trees! It won’t be long before they start falling to the ground and force some of us to get raking and subsequently stuffing those brown paper leaf bags! Before I provide you with a couple of the highlights your GWSA Board has worked on this month, we want to note some important dates to remember. National Day of Reconciliation – Friday, September 30 National Seniors Day – Saturday, October 1 Fall Fashion Show – Friday, October 21 Community Craft Sale – Saturday, November 19 September was another busy month for your Board. The BINGO pilot proposal is progressing. There is a lot of background work that is being done. This includes activities like applying for a licence, seeking group volunteers and a group leader, applying for grants to cover equipment costs, and establishing procedures for the games and for keeping all necessary records. Two of our Executive Board members went on a Field Trip to Woodstock to observe and bring back some best practices for discussion. New programs include Writers Club (first and third Wednesdays 1-3 pm) and Diabetes Support Group (Tuesdays 12 -1 pm). The Municipal Election is October 24, advanced polls and Election Day may impact your program schedules. You will be notified as appropriate. TRICK OR TREAT!! Halloween is also upon us in October! HAPPY HALLOWEEN! REMINDERS OF HOW SPECIAL YOU ALL ARE! Your Board wants to remind you of how special you are by including a reminder of what National Seniors Day is.
