Colleen Simmons, 519-429-4634 upinatree123@gmail.com The Book Nook — “A Lending Library” We are open Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. **** Here is a great book to read, a really gripping whodunit called “Her Last Goodbye” by Rick Mofina. Jennifer Griffin is a busy mum who works for an optometrist. She lives with her husband, Greg, and their son, Jake, in Trailside Grove in the Buffalo-Niagara Region. Jenn goes to her neighbourhood book club meeting as usual, but when Greg wakes up in the early hours of the morning, he finds Jenn is still not home. After searching the house, he gets into his car and drives to where she was to be that night at the book club in the hopes of finding her. Maybe her car had n down, which would explain why she was not home. However, when he contacts the other members of the book club, they all tell him she left to go home around 10:30 p.m. After hours go by and still no sign of Jenn, Greg contacts the police and lets them know she is missing. Greg’s sister Kat and his Dad then came over to be with him. When word gets out that Jenn is missing, the neighbourhood sets up a search party, combing the woods in the area where A VIEW FROM THE BOOK NOOK Chris Fraser Jenn would have driven home. Kozak and Carillo were the detectives assigned to the case, and for weeks, they followed every lead, but when they noticed Greg had scratches on his hand, they began to wonder if he had harmed his wife. Kat tells Greg she saw Jenn a few weeks earlier talking to Peter Sellwin who was on the school board where Jenn also volunteered, and Kat felt that there was something going on between them. Greg simply did not believe his wife could be unfaithful. They had a good marriage, but he admitted that Jenn never got over the trauma she went through as a child when she lost her parents when their home burned down and she was the only survivor. There are many twists and turns in this story, with several suspects who could have abducted Jenn. It’s a real page turner which I could not put down. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I did. Please also take a look at the list I have provided of the newly added books to our library that have generously been donated.
