Playful Reno and laid-back Peanut looking for homes
The following are among the pets up for adoption at
the Humane Society of Madison County.
Reno
Reno is a big goof with a big bowling ball head, and
he comes with the best personality ever. With an estimated
birthday of October 2020, shelter staff believe he
is a pure American bulldog. This sweet boy weighs in
at a whopping 75 pounds, and he loves to be out and
about with his people, soaking up as much love as he
can get. He loves treats and will shine for the camera if
you have a treat in hand.
He is a smart guy that could gladly learn anything
you want to teach him. Reno already knows his basic
commands and loves to keep his kennel clean and tidy.
He seems to like other dogs that are his size and that
match his playful personality. He has made a few doggy
friends here at the shelter, but a slow introduction
when meeting new dogs is always best. As far as cats
and small animals, Reno is not a fan. He would need to
go to a home without those things. He doesn’t always
realize his size and since he is a big, playful boy, he
could unintentionally knock down a small kiddo.
He loves to play and would love to have a bigger/older
kid with dog experience to play with him. In Reno’s forever
home, he would thrive with a fenced-in yard with
lots of room to run and burn off his energy. What Reno
loves most is sharing his goofy and loving personality.
He feels no shame giving lots of wet, slobbery bulldog
kisses and will climb into your lap, thinking he is a
small dog. This handsome hunk has so much love to
give, the family who he can share his love with will be
so lucky.
Peanut is a larger lady, about 4 years old and currently weighs
in at 16 pounds. She could stand to lose a few pounds, but shelter
staff hasn’t had the heart to have that conversation with her yet.
This wonderful young lady was brought to the shelter due to not
fault of her own, but because her previous owners were no longer
able to care for her. Peanut has gotten along very well with the kitties
she has met at the shelter. She hasn’t been introduced to any
doggos, but with slow and proper introductions to both cats and
dogs, she should do just fine. Peanut has experience with children,
as she was around them in her previous home.
This wonderful girl is eagerly awaiting her purrever home. If
you would like to meet this sweet girl, complete an application and
come meet Peanut.
The adoption fee is $80 for kittens up to 6 months old and $60
for cats 7 months and older. It includes: a FeLV/FIV test, spay or
neuter, set of shots, deworming, and a one-year rabies shot (if old
enough). Fees can be paid by cash or credit card.
