REVIEW MOTORHOME AND CARAVAN SHOW
thoughts that it might be
counterproductive to showcase
products to growing new
audiences when not being able
to manufacture at full capacity,
have fallen by the wayside.
Terry Dullaghan, managing
director at NCC Events, said:
“It’s the first time this Show
has taken place since 2019 and
we’re over the moon to be back
delivering another successful
event with the biggest audience
the Show has ever seen. We
have seen a huge influx of
people who have a brand new
appreciation for the outdoors
and exploring what’s right on
their doorstep and it’s pleasing
that this has resulted in a strong
level of sales for our exhibitors.
“We’d like to say thanks to
all the visitors who travelled
from across the UK to visit the
Show, our exhibitors, partners
and sponsors for their continued
support and are looking
forward to producing another
fantastic Caravan, Camping &
Motorhome Show at the NEC
in February 2023.”
As well as the big name
producers of leisure vehicles
themselves, the show was also
a haven for those who make
components and accessories.
During our exploration of the
show floor we spoke to many
companies including Peggy Peg,
Dometic, Westfield Outdoors,
Pundmann, who were all
impressed with the organisation
of the event, as well as the
strong attendance.
While many may think that
it doesn’t pay to continually
hype up already high demand
when there are such issues with
supply and parts shortages,
clearly the industry sees it a
different way. There is a belief
that this interest in leisure
vehicles will continue to remain
high – many believe the trend
was already upwardly mobile
long before the pandemic.
Shows like this keep people
interested and keep the fire
burning inside them to be
part of the great hobby that is
camping. Some may be waiting
for their new campervan to
be delivered, some may be
taking their time over a buying
decision, others who already
own campers or caravans might
simply be here for the sense
of community – one thing is
certain, you cannot help but
leave a show like this feeling
positive about this industry
and its long-term prospects,
no matter what challenges the
world throws up at us.
