Smoothie goodness<br />

Four delicious pick-me-up smoothies packed with vitamins to get you on your way<br />

Pineapple and cucumber smoothie<br />

A fresh fast-morning smoothie packed with greens and vitamins. Makes four.<br />

You’ll need: 1 whole cucumber, 1 x 440 g can Rhodes Quality Pineapple<br />

Pieces in Syrup, drained, 250 ml (1 cup) Rhodes Quality 100% Pineapple<br />

Juice, chilled, 250 ml (1 cup) coconut water, chilled, 2.5 ml (½ tsp) Hinds<br />

Spices Pure Ground Ginger<br />

To make: Place the cucumber, pineapple pieces, pineapple juice,<br />

coconut water and ground ginger into a blender. Blend until smooth and<br />

serve immediately.<br />

Peach and ginger smoothie<br />

Fast and fresh breakfast smoothie. Add<br />

a little ginger to smoothies for its antiinflammatory<br />

and immune boosting<br />

properties. Makes 1.<br />

You’ll need: 1 x 410 g can Rhodes Quality<br />

Peach Halves in Syrup, drained, 5 to10 ml<br />

(1-2 tsp) fresh ginger, peeled and finely<br />

grated, 5 ml (1 tsp) honey, 190 ml coconut<br />

milk, ice cubes<br />

To make: Place the peach halves in a<br />

blender. Add the ginger, honey and<br />

coconut milk. Blend until smooth. Pour the<br />

smoothie over the ice cubes and serve.<br />

Spinach and orange<br />

juice smoothie<br />

A fresh fast-morning smoothie packed<br />

with greens and vitamins. Serves 2.<br />

You’ll need: 375ml (1½ cups) Rhodes<br />

Quality Orange 100% Fruit Juice Blend,<br />

1 small cucumber, chopped, 500ml (2<br />

cups) fresh spinach, washed, 1 large<br />

banana<br />

To make: Place the orange juice into a<br />

blender. Add the remaining ingredients<br />

and blend on high until smooth and<br />

creamy. Serve immediately.<br />

Carrot, apple, ginger,<br />

and orange juice<br />

An everyday immune boosting juice.<br />

Serves 8.<br />

You’ll need: 250ml (1 cup) Rhodes Quality<br />

Apple 100% Fruit Juice, chilled, 250ml (1<br />

cup) Rhodes Quality Orange 100% Fruit<br />

Juice, chilled, 2.5ml (½ tsp) Hinds Ground<br />

Ginger, 2 carrots, 1 cup ice<br />

To make: Place the apple juice and the<br />

orange juice into a liquidiser. Add the<br />

ground ginger, carrots and ice. Process<br />

until smooth. Serve well chilled.<br />
