To help his customers John<br />
tries to schedule anumber of<br />
jobs, all on the same day in<br />
these areas, so that he can<br />
service as many units as<br />
possible while keeping mileage<br />
costs down.<br />
It is important to keep heat<br />
pump units clean inside and<br />
out so they work efficiently.<br />
Just cleaning the filters helps<br />
with this, but agood thorough<br />
clean inside and out will make<br />
the world of difference to the<br />
unit’s efficiency and client’s<br />
power bills.<br />
John uses professional<br />
disinfectants and cleaners on<br />
the inside and outside units,<br />
including coil cleaner.<br />
He takes approximately one<br />
hour to clean each unit,<br />
depending on how dirty they<br />
are.<br />
‘‘It’s is all about where the<br />
units are located,’’ John says.<br />
‘‘Those mounted near<br />
kitchens tend to get more dirt<br />
and grime stuck to them, while<br />
midhallway units don’t, but<br />
those units mounted near doors<br />
can quickly get filled with dust<br />
and dirt.’’<br />
John says owners should also<br />
check how their outside units<br />
are.<br />
‘‘Outside Ihave come across<br />
units completely covered in<br />
climbers or plants. They are<br />
just as important as the<br />
internal units.’’<br />
He sees atrend now for<br />
homes containing more than<br />
one unit.<br />
‘‘Some houses have up to five<br />
units, and it is important to<br />
keep them all clean and<br />
operating at their optimum<br />
settings.’’<br />
He also does work for local<br />
businesses, and will work<br />
flexible hours so as not to<br />
disturb customers, and to meet<br />
clients needs.<br />
He is atrusted contractor for<br />
several rental managers and<br />
landlords.<br />
Health and Safety is<br />
important –asisbeing covered<br />
by professional insurance.<br />
