LETTER
so here we are. 2023!
it went by fast. yes, we said the same last year, and the year before -
but still, 2022 has gone by very quickly. while i’m writing these lines,
we are almost halfway through january and we can only guess what
this year will bring. we managed to fill the past 12 months with a lot
of fun activities and events, and also continued our travel adventures,
which finally brought us to argentina.
a trip that had been planned for a long time, we were excited to
experience both the cosmopolitan capital city of buenos aires and
mendoza, the country’s famous wine-growing region.
it was an amazing trip, and if we would have stayed a bit longer,
we would have joined the world’s biggest party of 2022 after
argentina’s world cup victory.
now, let’s look ahead to the 2026 world cup of which vancouver
is an official host city. the sport is gaining in popularity,
and so we thought it is about time to introduce vanni sartini,
the head coach of our very own vancouver whitecaps fc. there will be
16 home matches this coming season, so mark your calendars.

and now the prestigious michelin guide officially launched in the city.
congratulations to our 8 michelin-starred restaurants, the
special awards recipients, 12 bib gourmands and 40 ‘recommended’
restaurants joining the inaugural michelin guide vancouver.
i hope you enjoy this issue, showcasing everything we crave and enjoy,
mixed with some great interviews and other feature articles.

Congratulations!
There was a lot to celebrate, and it all happened in ... Argentina!
First, a big congratulations to our Luxury Events editor, who tied
the knot in Buenos Aires. All the best, Craig and Nadia!
Next was our Automotive Editor, who had to blow out quite a
few candles during our trip to Argentina.
The big birthday bash actually moved from Buenos Aires to Mendoza
the very next day, and the champagne and wine was flowing. Finally, there
was the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. In late 2021 we went to Doha for the unveiling
of the HUBLOT countdown clock, and just a year later and after we
visited Argentina for the feature article in this edition, they won the World
Cup for the first time in 36 years. Congratulations!
