heels took to the streets<br />
of downtown Orlando<br />
for Walk a Mile in Her<br />
Shoes. More than 450<br />
people registered for<br />
the event, joining forces<br />
to show Orlando how<br />
to walk the walk when<br />
it comes to ending domestic<br />
violence in the<br />
community and raising<br />
awareness about the<br />
free, confidential services<br />
available to survivors<br />
through Harbor House<br />
of Central Florida.<br />
While Walk a Mile in<br />
Her Shoes is primarily<br />
an awareness event,<br />
SOUTHWEST SPORTS<br />
Harbor House was able to raise<br />
$18,500 to support its lifesaving<br />
programs and services for domestic<br />
violence survivors, their children and<br />
their pets.<br />

The prestigious WSIA 2023 Wake<br />
Park of the Year was awarded to<br />
Orlando Watersports Complex.<br />
This honor is given to the wake park<br />
that exemplifies excellence in all aspects<br />
of wakeboarding, including<br />
facilities, operations, customer<br />
service and community involvement.<br />
The complex offers a range of<br />
activities suitable for all ages and<br />
skill levels, including wakeboarding,<br />
wakeskating, kneeboarding,<br />
wakesurfing, water skiing and<br />
an aquapark.<br />

Kylie Konstand, a resident of Windermere Downs<br />
and a sixth grader at Windermere Preparatory School,<br />
steps up to the plate to help lead the varsity softball team to<br />
victory.<br />
Academy varsity Eagles. She scored<br />
four hits in the 13-2 win. A sixth<br />
grader, Konstand is the starting third<br />
baseman on the varsity team.<br />
Ocoee resident Antonio<br />
Redding was one of more than<br />
200 student-athletes who competed<br />
for the Flying Dutchmen during the<br />
winter 2022-23 season. A graduate<br />
of Central Florida Christian<br />
Academy, Redding is pursuing a<br />
Bachelor of Arts in exploratory at<br />
Lebanon Valley College. He was<br />
a member of the men’s basketball<br />
team, which finished with seven<br />
wins on the season, including five<br />
in Middle Atlantic Conference play.<br />
The team began its year by winning<br />
the Rinso Marquette Tournament.<br />

the Windermere Preparatory<br />
School Lakers varsity softball<br />
team to victory against the Master’s<br />
Winter Garden resident,<br />
owner of Winter Garden Wheel<br />
Works, and U.S. Air Force veteran<br />
Dennis Jones ran the 2023<br />
Boston Marathon to raise funds for<br />
