5.5.2 DataHub Support/VM Operating System Overview
Figure 132 shows the operating system components that are required for
DataHub Support/VM processing. The CMR is loaded into Group Control System
(GCS) private storage, where it executes. AVS and VTAM run as applications
under GCS. The Service Pool machines are private Service Pool machines that
run under the Conversational Monitor System (CMS) operating system.
Figure 132. DHS/VM Operating System Overview
An explanation of these components is as follows:
AVS Console Used to activate and deactivate gateways, monitor
DataHub Support/VM gateways and conversations, and
control GCS tracing.
CMR1 The Conversation Management Routine that manages the
local Service Pool machines (SPM00000 and SPM00001).
The CMR selects a Service Pool machine ID to process the
inbound request from DataHub/2. The CMR executes as
an entity of AVS.
DataHub/2 IBM SystemView Information Warehouse DataHub/2. The
origin of DataHub requests. When an action is selected (for
example, “Load”), a command is sent to DataHub
Support/VM to perform it (or some part of it).
GW1 Gateway LU. All inbound and outbound DataHub tools
conversations for CP are processed through the gateway
LU. One or more DataHub LUs can be defined to VTAM,
each associated with a DataHub Support/VM CMR.
