We arelooking for people with functional dyspepsia (indigestion) to<br />
participate in aresearch studyinvestigating thedigestive health effects<br />
of consuming mānuka honey.<br />
Symptomsoffunctionaldyspepsia include:<br />
• pain or burning in thestomach,bloating,excessive belching (burping)<br />
or nauseaafter meals<br />
• anearly feeling of fullnesswheneating<br />
• pain in thestomach that may sometimesoccur unrelated to meals or<br />
may be relieved by eating.<br />
Afteratwo-weeklead-in period, we will provide you with mānuka honey<br />
or ahoney-likeproduct to eatbefore breakfast anddinner everyday for<br />
six-weeks. Twoweeks laterwewill againask you aboutyourfunctional<br />
dyspepsia symptoms.<br />
Thetimecommitment for this study will be about10hours and you will<br />
attend sixclinic visits in total. Youwill receive up to $220 in supermarket<br />
vouchers in recognition of the actual or reasonable costsassociatedwith<br />
participating in this study(e.g.,parking and/ortravel costs).<br />
