School’s new $10 million classrooms
and administration blockisonschedule
for its 2024opening.
Schoolprincipal Mike Hart says it
will be great to move into the new
buildings whenthe school reopens in
February 2024.
‘‘We have been verylucky with the
rebuild. It is on schedule and we are
getting minimal disruption from the
building compound.’’
Mr Hart says with the builders having
their own street access, the schoolhas
had no disruption to classes and hear
minimal noise.
When the contractorsremoved the
old relocatable classrooms and
buildings the school had been using
there for the past couple of decades,
staff looked into the big hole leftbehind
and thoughttheirnew buildings
weren’t goingto be that big.
But once they poured the concrete,
the schooland for Oxford.
‘‘It’s going to be an incredible
building with lots of spacesthat are
well insulated, well lit and incredibly
strong.
‘‘They will be atop notch building
when finished,’’ he says.
Oxford Area School’s $10 million
2018.
The almost 500 schoolpupils at
