Speakingatlast week’s community<br />
and recreation committee meeting, Ms<br />
Sturley said the communityteam had<br />
been working with the Kaiapoi<br />
CommunityHub Trust to assistwith<br />
fundingapplications.<br />
The trustwouldbeemploying aparttime<br />
fundingcoordinator on a 12<br />
month contract to supportthis<br />
process.<br />
Meetings had already been held with<br />
Lotteries andthe Rata Foundation.<br />
The hub was being built on former<br />
red zoneland, betweenCourtenay<br />
Drive and Charters Street.<br />
SatisfyFood Rescue and the<br />
KaiapoiMen’sShedhave been<br />
confirmed as partners.<br />
Other organisationshave expressed<br />
an interest in being involved in the<br />
hub, whilethe Kaiapoi Croquet Club<br />
wasalso building on the site.<br />
Ms Sturleysaid the council was<br />
workingonadesign guidetoaddress<br />
residents’ concerns.<br />
