Fresh initiatives for the
leisure marine industry
To celebrate its 35th anniversary, Metstrade introduces a range of pioneering
initiatives aimed at addressing key challenges affecting the leisure marine
industry, including marinas and yards. The focus is set on crucial areas such
as employability, gender equality, accessibility, sustainability, and innovation.
Initiatives include the cutting-edge
Foiling Technology Pavilion (FTP)
in collaboration with the Foiling
Organisation, which includes an FTP
Theatre, showcasing the
latest advancements in foiling
technology. Additionally,
the Start-Up Pavilion in
collaboration with Yachting
Ventures will provide a platform
for innovative start-ups to
shine, featuring a start-up
pitching event to attract
potential investors. The new
Next Generation Propulsion
Zone will focus on pushing
the boundaries of propulsion
technology.
In a first-time collaboration,
Metstrade will host the
prestigious Mirabaud
Yacht Racing Image Award
competition’s Award Ceremony
with Yacht Racing Forum,
adding a touch of glamour
and celebration to the event.
Another exciting addition is the Career
Corner, situated within the Young
Professionals Lounge, where students
and young professionals can receive
valuable career coaching sessions from
Marine Resources’ recruiters.
While looking to the future, the event
will continue to build on its existing
successes. The DAME Design Awards

Pavilion (MYP).
For professionals involved in
managing, operating and providing
services for marinas and boatyards, the
Marina & Yard Pavilion (MYP) remains
the go-to dedicated area within the
exhibition that caters specifically to the
thriving marina and boatyard industry.
This includes the latest equipment,
technology, infrastructure solutions,
dock systems, maintenance tools,
environmental management, and more.
The pavilion creates a vibrant and
interactive environment, allowing
attendees to forge partnerships
and explore the latest trends and
advancements in the marina and
yard sector. Don’t miss the special
additional networking opportunity at the
Waterfront Drinks reception, hosted by
Marina World.
During this year’s show, the
dedicated METSTRADE Theatre will
host insightful discussions about the
marinas of the future, and rethinking
approaches to marina personnel - both
sessions powered by Marina World and
chaired by Oscar Siches.
In ‘Marinas of the Future:
Infrastructure, Policy and Social
Values’ the sustainable character
of the marina of the future will be
discussed, i.e. how to maintain social
value and deliver strong economic
performance while balancing
technology with the human
touch. Will the transformation
of old marinas be part of
the solution? Restrictions
hamper development - is it
up to the industry to push for
government action?
In ‘Diversity Breeds
Diversity’ visitors can discover
how yachting is changing,
adapting to different cultures,
and different places, in part
because of crew diversity.
Should marinas seek greater
staff diversity so as to offer
their boating customers
broader perspectives?
