From Waves to Epochs - A Look into Playground’s Artistic Evolution
Playground_Sol
In the world of NFT collectors, Playground has emerged as a trailblazing name synonymous with artistic innovation
and blockchain technology. As we celebrate the 2nd anniversary of this visionary platform, we take a captivating
journey through its landmark collections, starting with the groundbreaking “WAVES.”
WAVES: Riding the Digital Tides
On September 24, 2021, Playground, under the Twitter handle @Playground_Sol, embarked on an artistic voyage
like no other. WAVES, their inaugural collection, was launched with a singular mission: to bridge the gap between
traditional art and the world of NFTs on the Solana blockchain.
WAVES, a dynamic generative art collection, comprised 1000 unique pieces, all brought to life by the artistic
genius of Chris McCann, known on Twitter as @Mccannatron. These mesmerizing digital waves drew inspiration
from the ever-shifting crypto markets, incorporating elements such as Bollinger Bands, wave theory, and moon
math charts.
Playground made history as the 2nd collection to debut on Raydium’s innovative DropZone NFT platform, captivating
collectors with its lottery-style drop. An astonishing 18,885 applications poured in, all vying for a chance to
mint one of the coveted 1000 NFTs.
