10. Do you have any detailing
"horror" stories to share (such
as a difficult stain, bugs, etc.)?
Preface - This answer might be
hard to handle and so please do
not read if you are sensitive to
traumatic stories).
As a detailer "horror" stories are a
constant but the one that stands
out was tragically a vehicle where
someone took their life and the
vehicle was sold to a dealer at an
auction, they contacted me to do the
final cleaning and even though it was
just stains left I felt very emotional
that I was where a person wasn't
seeing the big picture and that life is
well worth staying around and that
problems as hard as they can be are
only temporary.

you would like to share with
our readers? I am a proud
member of the IDA -
Certified Detailer, MC.
My wife Cindy (who is the “C”
in C & J) is my partner in the
business working behind the scenes
with encouragement and keeping
the books right and making sure all
the Is are dotted and Ts are crossed.
I am in a unique position because
a few years ago I closed my shop
of 6 years due to Covid and took
a job at a local Chevy dealership.
I found that world to be a whole
new adventure and many of the
requirements are very different and
had been challenging to make the
adjustment. I have also restarted
my mobile service except I am
concentrating on higher end and
show vehicles. So, it can be said
that I now have the best of both
worlds.
I absolutely love waking up every
day doing something that I love. To
me being a PROFESSIONAL detailer
is the best thing ever.
In my spare time I created a Search
& Rescue Team (Search Team 1)
and have had the honor of helping
not just locally but traveling to the
Carolinas for Hurricane Dorian as
well as going to Waverly, Tennessee.
to assist in search and recovery
from the massive flooding that
happened there.
