The weeks after we published the October edition of Accomplish Magazine have been quite eventful in many respects, so much so in Nigeria, where our overseas branch is located... We’ll return to that shortly. Let’s begin by announcing Team Accomplish’s pleasure to present an African with a difference, a great business strategist and visionary on our cover. He is Sir Mohammed Fathi Ahmed Ibrahim (Mo Ibrahim for short). After career experience in Africa and Europe, he took his brilliance to entrepreneurship, establishing Mobile Systems International (MSI) and, later, Celtel International - which practically lifted telephony experience across Africa. Perhaps, his most profound engagement is the founding of the Mo Ibrahim Foundation that instituted the globally acclaimed Ibrahim Prize for Achievement in African Leadership with a whopping US$5 million award and a life stipend of $200,000 per year for recipients. You would love to read the full details yourself. We scanned through the career field and located a woman who left a huge impression in the banking sphere in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. In ‘The CEO Interview’, we bring you Pamela Yough, former chief executive officer of Zenith Bank (UK) Limited. Her viewpoints on rising through the career ladder and overcoming stereotypes will interest readers. From Nigeria comes the seemingly hurried Supreme Court judgment in the appeals of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi in respect of the presidential election held in February this year on technical grounds.
