Two Books Launched
in Honour of Buhari’s
Legacies, Tinubu
Speaks at Presentation
President Bola Tinubu was
invited as a special guest
of honour to the public
presentation of two books on
Tuesday, January 16, in Abuja.
One of the books was written
by Femi Adesina, a former
Special Assistant to President
Muhammadu Buhari on
Publicity and Media. "Working
with Buhari: Reflections of A
Special Adviser, Media, and
Publicity (2015-2023)" is the
title of Mr. Adesina's book, while
the other is published in five
volumes and was co-authored
by other authors.
Following the transfer
of power on May 29, 2023,
this was the first public
appearance together for
former President Buhari and
his successor, President
Tinubu, at the Transcorp
Hilton. The events, tales, and
information surrounding
Mr. Buhari's eight years
as a civilian president are
chronicled in Mr. Adesina's
book
Laud Federal
Government’s
Intervention in Plateau
Killings
The Northern Governors' Forum
expressed its satisfaction with
President Bola Tinubu's action
on Thursday, January 4, to stop
the massacres from happening
again in Plateau and Kaduna
states. Governor Inuwa Yahaya
of Gombe State, who chairs the
South African
Billionaire, Johann
Rupert, displaces Aliko
Dangote to become
Africa’s Richest Man
Aliko Dangote dropped to
second place on the Forbes'
Daily Billionaires ranking list,
which analyses daily changes
in the fortune of the world’s
most affluent people. Dangote’s
wealth dropped from $13.5
billion in 2023 to $9.5 billion at
the beginning of 2024.
There were notable drops in
the billionaires’ wealth on the
list. Mike Adenuga of Nigeria
rose to the tenth rank due to
his fortune, whereas Patrice
Motsepe, who was among
the top ten in 2023, was not
among the top ten richest men
in 2024. Moreover, no female
appeared on the list of the 10
richest people at the beginning
of the year. The declining
wealth of some of these people
forum, also expressed gratitude
to the administration for giving
surviving members of the
deceased's families help and
supplies.
Speaking in Hausa to State
House reporters, Yahaya
disclosed the forum's stance
following private discussions
with the president at the Aso
Rock Villa in Abuja. Citing Vice
President Kashim Shettima's trip
to Plateau and Kaduna states,
Yahaya cautioned against
fostering polarising stories
among communities, claiming
that these differences were the
cause of the gruesome killings.
serves as a window into the
economic struggles facing
all of Africa. The decline in
Dangote’s fortune can be linked
to the depreciation of the naira
as well as other economic
problems in Nigeria.
Dangote Emerges as
Africa’s Richest Man
Again, Topping Forbes
List
Business entrepreneur Johann
Rupert of South Africa has lost
his title as the richest person
in Africa to Nigerian billionaire
Aliko Dangote, according
to Forbes and Bloomberg.
Dangote’s net worth increased
by $10 billion to $10.1 billion as
goods entrepreneur, Johann
Rupert. As of the time of writing,
