WYCHWOOD LOOKS
TO NEW HORIZONS
WITH EPIC LAUNCHES
With the iceTackle* 2024 trade show looming in the UK, it’s time to look at some of the key
products coming from Leeda’s key carp brand, Wychwood.
Anew year heralds new gear and
long-standing UK-based carp
brand Wychwood is setting
itself up for a new chapter as it
goes from strength to strength in its fifth
decade in the carp market.
The brand is reshaping how it presents
its product tiers and, from this spring,
there will be a number of additions to its
product range, including totally new rods.
Coinciding with iceTackle* 2024 – the
trade-only event for parent company
Leeda, being held in late March in the
UK – there will be a series of flagship rods
falling under the EPIC banner.
Developed as a mixture of all-round
versatility but with the power to hit big
distances, there are three test curves to
choose from – 3lb, 3.25lb and 3.5lb – all
based around a Toray carbon blank that’s
adorned with American Tackle guides.
Two handle options will be available; a
full Japanese shrink wrap and a slim cork
32 www.tackletradeworld.com
mix, both featuring built-in snag rings to
prevent rods being pulled in.
“We’re starting with a modest selection
of what would be classed as go-to lengths
and test curves,” explained Pat MacInnes,
marketing manager for Wychwood.
“But we are looking at the potential for
additional lengths and options for stalking
that would broaden the appeal of the Epic
range.”
