At 30 June <strong>2023</strong>, Council had 9 Section 41 (Local Government Act 1999) Committees (2 statutory and 7 discretionary) and a<br />

Council Assessment Panel.<br />

Committee reports are provided below. Unless otherwise stated, the Committee membership referenced is as at 30 June <strong>2023</strong>.<br />

Ageing Well Advisory Committee<br />

Formerly Active Ageing Advisory Committee until 5<br />

September <strong>2022</strong>.<br />

Purpose of Committee:<br />

This Committee provide strategic advice on Campbelltown<br />

as an age friendly community focusing on housing, physical<br />

environment, participation, health, wellbeing and services<br />

to support all older people aged 60 years + to age well in<br />

Campbelltown.<br />

Number of meetings in <strong>2022</strong>/23: 4<br />

Key achievements and highlights:<br />

» Development of the Ageing Well Plan 2024<br />

» Ongoing research and development into Tackling Ageism.<br />

Secured an SA Government Age Friendly Communities<br />

grant to develop Ageism Awareness Training for Local<br />

Government.<br />

» Development and distribution of the Active Ageing News<br />

and Information bi-monthly newsletter<br />

» Completion of the Age Friendly Communities selfassessment.<br />

» Launch of a trial Intergenerational Initiatives grants<br />

program.<br />

» Ongoing supporting of new and ongoing community<br />

initiatives, programs and partnerships<br />

Audit and Governance Advisory Committee<br />

Chair: Mr Roberto Bria<br />

Cr Blackborough, Cr Flynn (From November <strong>2022</strong>)<br />

Community Members composition:<br />

Dr Andrew Johnson, Mr Phil Vincent<br />

Purpose of Committee:<br />

To assist Council in its financial and corporate governance<br />

responsibilities consistent with those outlined in Section 126<br />

of the Local Government Act 1999.<br />

The Committee monitors the integrity of the financial<br />

statements of the Council, including its annual report,<br />

reviewing significant financial reporting issues and<br />

judgements which they contain.<br />

Key achievements and highlights:<br />

The Committee has played a key role in supporting the<br />

Council with:<br />

» The development of the <strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan and Budget<br />

» Undertaking a review of the Business Continuity Plan<br />

» Overseeing the <strong>Annual</strong> Policy review<br />

» Reviewing the Long Term Financial Plan<br />

» The appointment of the external auditor.<br />

Climate Solutions Advisory Committee<br />

Chair: Cr Dr Irvine (Until November <strong>2022</strong>)<br />

Greene, Ms Kirsty Robinson<br />

Purpose of Committee:<br />

To provide the Council with strategic advice in relation to<br />

addressing the impact of Climate Change in Campbelltown<br />

and monitor the delivery of the actions from the Climate<br />

Solutions Strategy.<br />

Number of meetings in <strong>2022</strong>/23: 4<br />

Key achievements and highlights:<br />

» The Committee provides advice on the implementation<br />

of Campbelltown City Council’s Climate Solutions<br />

Strategy and Action Plan and key highlights include the<br />

development of Environmentally Sustainable Design<br />

Guidelines for Buildings, initiation of the Green Road Trial,<br />

Climate Refuge and Community Battery Projects and<br />

support for Campbelltown’s EV transition planning and<br />

signing the State Government’s EV Fleet Pledge.<br />
