Community Engagement
Council is committed to maximising engagement with
the Community and providing opportunities which
are meaningful, timely and genuine. Council’s Public
Consultation Policy has been developed incorporating the
IAP2 (International Association for Public Participation)
framework for public participation and the requirements of
the Local Government Act 1999.
Council’s Strategic Plan demonstrates its commitment to
community engagement, including objectives to communicate
with the Community using a range of tools and strategies,
and drive innovation, enhancement and efficiency through
collaboration. Council informs, consults, involves and
collaborates with stakeholders, residents and ratepayers
at different times throughout the life of projects. Community
members responding to consultations are encouraged to
participate in engagement activities in an honest and genuine
way to assist Council to understand Community views.
