Council’s Projections and Plans<br />
Council’s projections and plans for the next financial year<br />
are identified principally in the <strong>2023</strong>/2024 <strong>Annual</strong> Business<br />
Plan and Budget, and Management Plans.<br />
Key strategic activities anticipated to be undertaken (from<br />
Council’s <strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan and Budget) include:<br />
» Prepare concept plans and cost estimates to develop a<br />
proposed Community Hub at the current location of the<br />
Council Administration Building at Rostrevor<br />
» Complete the Paradise Recreation Plaza<br />
» Install Peace Poles to recognise Rotary turning 100 years<br />
» Undertake a Representation Review, as required under<br />
Section 12(4) of the Local Government Act 1999<br />
» Purchase Automated External Defibrillators for all Council<br />
public buildings and facilities ahead of the requirement to<br />
comply with the Automated External Defibrillators (Public<br />
Access) Act <strong>2022</strong> by 1 January 2025<br />
» Purchase software to streamline the management, monitoring<br />
and reporting across Council’s 21 social media channels,<br />
to facilitate compliance with Council’s newly adopted Social<br />
Media policy<br />
» Gain Communication Access Symbol Accreditation for the<br />
Library, as supported by Council’s DAIAC (Disability Access<br />
& Inclusion Advisory Committee)<br />
» Employ an additional field Staff member to assist with<br />
Council’s strategic intentions for verge development<br />
» Set aside funds to support future Master Plan capital works<br />
and to fund strategic land purchases.<br />
<strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan Performance<br />
Council’s <strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan performance for <strong>2022</strong>/<strong>2023</strong><br />
is documented in Appendix 1 (pages 39 to 48) of Council’s<br />
<strong>2023</strong>/2024 <strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan and Budget as required<br />
by legislation. Copies of the <strong>Annual</strong> Business Plan are<br />
available from Council’s website or Council’s Office during<br />
business hours.<br />
Community Land Management Plans<br />
Section 193 of the Local Government Act 1999 Act, requires<br />
that all local government land owned by Council or under<br />
Council’s care and control (excluding roads) is classified as<br />
community land.<br />
The Community Land Management Plans group community<br />
land parcels into a range of categories based on similar<br />
purposes, such as sporting reserves, biodiversity reserves,<br />
drainage reserves and walkways. The plans detail how<br />
Council will develop, manage and maintain the land held for<br />
the Community’s use and enjoyment.<br />
At its meeting on 4 April <strong>2023</strong>, Council adopted the Revised<br />
Community Land Management Plan following a period of<br />
Community consultation. The revised plan addressed a<br />
small number of administrative amendments to support<br />
Council in its management of land that is owned or under<br />
Council’s care, control or management and been classified<br />
accordingly.<br />
