Sheerline’s SheerVent roof vent is now exclusively available for S2 conservatory roofs,
alongside the company’s award winning S1 lantern.
With a ‘stylish’ ventilation option that integrates properly with the rest of the roof aesthetic,
Sheerline says SheerVent is ‘the perfect solution’ to the longstanding challenge of adding
reliable ventilation to glazed roofs, without creating weaknesses for water ingress. It
does this through an integrated muntin bar, and fitting directly into the ridge baffle, thus
eliminating the possibility of leaks. In addition, it offers thermal efficiency as it is fully
thermally broken using high-performance 24mm glazing, ideal for keeping conservatories
warmer in winter and cooler in summer. This system also utilises discreet light, wind and
rain sensors for comfort, additional convenience and peace of mind. info@sheerline.com
REYNAERS UPDATES KEY CURTAIN WALLING SYSTEMS
Reynaers Aluminium UK has enhanced two of its key curtain walling systems, adding compatible components ‘to
support architects in enjoying design freedom’, and allowing it to respond faster to industry demands.
The latest update to Reynaers’ ConceptWall 50 (CW 50) and ConceptWall 60 (CW 60) curtain walling systems has seen
the components updated along with introducing the ability to use 60mm mullions with 50mm transoms to allow larger
transom spans in support of wider design capabilities. Both systems now use the same gaskets, screws, insulators,
glazing tables and glass supports, which will also help to support availability of parts during construction.
In addition to the component upgrade, Reynaers has increased the glass load capabilities and thermal efficiency of CW
60. Designed for the harsher environments high-rise buildings can face, CW 60 now offers a higher weight load of 530kg,
and thermal efficiency has also been improved. www.reynaers.co.uk
'LOOKS, VERSATILITY & 1ST CLASS ENERGY EFFICIENCY'
Stedek & The Residence Collection have helped a new-build development achieve outstanding
thermal efficiency.
71 Old Penk in Cannock, Staffordshire, consists of three high-tech, eco-friendly homes that have been
designed to be exceptionally sustainable. They incorporate solar panels, electric charging points, groundsource
heat pumps, and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Crucial to their fabric-first approach
to energy efficiency, however, were the windows, as Alex Page of Stedek explained: “To deliver the thermal
requirements the developers wanted, we provided 44mm triple glazed Residence 7 windows, capable of
achieving U-values of just 0.9. That’s the brilliance of The Residence Collection – the way it can balance
looks, versatility and first class energy efficiency.” www.stedek.co.uk
