Wild West Robbery Train Ride
& Lunch at Old Country Buffet
Wilmington, DE
We travel to Wilmington, Delaware for an exciting “Wild
West Robbery Train Ride Excursion” on the Wilmington &
Western Railroad. From your seat on the vintage train, you
may find that you need to guard your valuables, wives and
children! Black Bart and his gang have seized the train, but can
they outsmart the sheriff and steal the gold? It may come down
to an old-fashioned shoot-out to decide who keeps the loot.
Settle into the clickety-clack of the rails as you enjoy this action
packed wild west reenactment while making your round trip
journey in antique passenger coaches pulled by a coal-burning
steam locomotive or an early generation diesel locomotive.
Before the train ride, you can relax and enjoy the fellowship of
friends old and new while dining on a delicious buffet lunch at
the Old Country Buffet. (L)
Aquarium, Whales & Battleships
Plymouth, MA
Day 1: Welcome Aboard! Travel in comfort aboard our deluxe
motor coach to the New England seacoast town of Mystic,
Connecticut. Upon our arrival we will visit the Mystic
Aquarium, where close encounters of the incredible kind
happen every day! Whether you’re touching a ray, feeling the
splash of a beluga whale, going beak-to-nose with a penguin or
exploring the deep sea with the exhibits on display, you’ll be
closer to ocean life than you ever thought possible! Following
a delicious dinner at a local restaurant we depart for Cohasset,
Massachusetts and our hotel accommodations for the next two
nights. The hotel is located on Cohasset’s picturesque working
harbor and is within walking distance of the village shops and
restaurants. Bring your bathing suit and enjoy the use of the
hotel’s indoor swimming pool. (D)
Day 2: After a hearty continental breakfast we meet our
step-on guide, and depart for a tour of historic Plymouth,
Massachusetts. Highlights of our tour include photo-stops
at the Plymouth Rock, the Mayflower II, (a replica of the
Pilgrims original sailing ship), learning the history of the
Pilgrims landing, and seeing the Forefather’s Monument. Next
we join Capt. John Boats for our narrated whale watching
cruise as we head for the Stellwagen feeding bank in search of
these remarkable marine mammals. Witness the power, energy
and majesty of humpback and fin whales as they play and jump
in the food-rich environment. Later we return to our hotel where
you will have time to sit, relax and freshen up before going out
for a delicious dinner at the Atlantica Restaurant. (B, D)
Day 3: After a hearty continental breakfast we depart for
Fall River, Massachusetts. Located on Fall River’s vibrant
waterfront, Battleship Cove is a maritime heritage museum
dedicated to the preservation of historic naval ships. The museum
is home to the world’s largest naval ship museum. Whether
you’re a die-hard naval history buff or a casual enthusiast of
military hardware, you’ll have much to discover at Battleship
Cove. Take a self-guided tour of the Battleship Massachusetts
or “Big Mamie”, as her crew knew her; or sound the diving horn
on Submarine Lionfish before you slip below the sea. You may
want to climb aboard the Destroyer Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr.,
famous for its role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, see the only pair
of fully restored PT Boats on display in the world, or explore
the Soviet-built Missile Corvette Hiddensee. There are plenty
of activities for the entire family to enjoy including viewing
the museums permanent exhibitions and dynamic new exhibits,
visiting the fully restored Fall River Carousel, and much, much
more! After our tour, we depart for home with fond memories
of New England’s coastal communities, offshore adventures
