Autumn Leaf Train Ride
& Lunch at Old Country Buffet
Wilmington, DE
Join us for a journey from Wilmington to Hockessin,
Delaware, and surround yourself with the colors, splendor
and beauty of Autumn. Today’s trip on the Wilmington &
93
Western Railroad will take you back to a time when the steam
locomotive ruled the rails. You will travel round trip in antique
passenger coaches pulled by a coal-burning steam locomotive
or an early-generation diesel locomotive. From your seat on
the vintage train, you’ll see the past as never before. History
will come alive, senses will be excited, and a forgotten era will
be relived, and you just might have a little fun along the way!
Experience the golden age of railroading as you chug across
bridges, clickety-clack through lush tall forests, wind through
narrow rock cuts, and whistle past homes in the beautiful valley
of the Red Clay Creek. We will disembark in Hockessin and
enjoy a layover to browse the local shops before we re-board
the train for our return trip. Before the train ride, you can relax
and enjoy the fellowship of friends old and new while dining on
a delicious buffet lunch at the Old Country Buffet. (L)
