<strong>Oswego</strong> Village President <strong>and</strong> Board of Trustees<br />

The resolution presented, if approved, would establish the Village’s support <strong>and</strong> contribution<br />
for the path. Board discussion focused on the anticipated contributions from the Village; it<br />
was estimated at between $83,000 <strong>and</strong> $87,000. Also discussed was what the path will lead<br />
to; future path maintenance obligations; Park District maintenance of paths; <strong>and</strong> including<br />
this in the August, 2012 Intergovernmental Meeting for discussion with other taxing district.<br />
This item will be added to the August, 2012 Intergovernmental Meeting agenda <strong>and</strong> tabled<br />
until September, 2012<br />
NEW BUSINESS<br />
Amend Village of <strong>Oswego</strong> Code of Ordinances; Amending 2009 IBC <strong>and</strong> IRC<br />
Requirements for Egress Windows (First Read of Ordinance)<br />
This was discussed previously at the May 15, 2012 Committee of the Whole meeting. At<br />
that time discussion focused on amending the 2009 IBC <strong>and</strong> IRC codes to gr<strong>and</strong>father<br />
existing homes to allow their basements to be built-out into habitable space without<br />
requiring an egress window unless the new space contained a sleeping room.<br />
Ordinance No. 12-44 -- A motion was made by Trustee Giles <strong>and</strong> seconded by Trustee<br />
Lawson to approve Ordinance No. 12-44 an Ordinance Amending the 2009 International<br />
Building Codes (IBC) <strong>and</strong> 2009 International Residential Code (IRC) adopted by Ordinance<br />
No. 11-63, corrected by Ordinance No. 11-91 for the Village of <strong>Oswego</strong>, Kendall County,<br />
<strong>Illinois</strong>.<br />

Absent: None<br />
The motion was declared carried with four (4) aye votes; <strong>and</strong> two (2) nay votes.<br />
PRESIDENT'S REPORT<br />
President LeClercq reminded staff <strong>and</strong> the Board to sign up for time at the Village’s booth at<br />
PrairieFest. He also announced that he will only be present for a short time at the June 19 th<br />
meeting; Trustee Volpe will be President Pro Tem.<br />

PRESIDENT / TRUSTEE INITIATIVE<br />
Trustee Giles – Asked for an update on the request for information about how to promote<br />
recycling <strong>and</strong> how recycling refund money has been spent in the past. It was explained that<br />
ECO is working on this task. The Kane County Newsletter was given as an example of a<br />
good publication promoting recycling; Ms. Bergeron will look into a publication for
