I Awards<br />

1 Students anticipating completion <strong>of</strong> course at the end <strong>of</strong> 1976<br />

Students who anticipate completion <strong>of</strong> the academic work for their courses at the<br />

end <strong>of</strong> 1976 and wish for a consolidated statement <strong>of</strong> results - fee $1 - indicating<br />

subjects passed and those still required to complete their course, are advised to<br />

apply now.<br />

This statement, in conjunction with the computer-printed certificate <strong>of</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficial<br />

results, should be sufficient for employers etc. to confum that the course is<br />

complete or otherwise.<br />

Students nearing completion <strong>of</strong> their course<br />

Students nearing completion <strong>of</strong> their course may obtain a statement indicating<br />

those subjects passed and those subjects still required to complete their courses<br />

for a fee <strong>of</strong> $1.<br />

A student who has obtained all subjects except one subject and has failed in that<br />

subject at the most recent final examination, shall be entitled to make application<br />

to the Director for permission to sit for a special examination. Candidates will<br />

use the same number as used for the final examinations. Application must be<br />

pade to the Registrar within 30 days <strong>of</strong> publication <strong>of</strong> the examination result in<br />

the subject.<br />

Any subject who has been involved in a change <strong>of</strong> syllabus (e.g. from the 1960<br />

syllabus to the 1965 revised syllabus, or to the 1972 syllabus etc.) and who has<br />

not previously obtained a statement, would be wise to do so before he or she commences<br />

the final semester.<br />

Confemng <strong>of</strong> certificates<br />

Students eligible to receive engineering or trade technician certificates are required<br />

to make application on the form prescribed, available from student records.<br />

Applications close on 31 October each year and for applicants who anticipate<br />

completing the academic work in the following December exams, the conferring<br />

ceremony will be held the following year.<br />

Students should <strong>note</strong> that a period <strong>of</strong> four years' industrial experience is required to<br />

qualify for the award <strong>of</strong> all engineering certificates.<br />

If industiial experience has not been completed at the time <strong>of</strong> lodging the application<br />

for the award, students should attach a <strong>note</strong> explaining when they expect to complete<br />

it.<br />
