State Electricity Commission scholarships*<br />

Applications close 30 November. Available for degree courses - mainly<br />

engineering. Scholarship holders are employCd by the commission during<br />

the long vacation and are required to work for the commission for a period<br />

(usually 3 years) after graduation. Value: $1 150 to $1350 p.a.<br />

Country Roads Board cadetship<br />

Applications close early December. Available for degree courses - mainly<br />

engineering.<br />

I Commonwealth Service cadetships<br />

C:adetshivs available in Comn~onwealth Covernn~ent departments vary from<br />

I year to year. Details are advertised in daily newspapers.-<br />

Awarded for the thud year <strong>of</strong> the diploma <strong>of</strong> art, graphic design course.<br />

Value: $50<br />

Singleton, Palmer & Strauss McAllen scholarships<br />

Two scholarships (one male, one female student) for the thud year <strong>of</strong> the<br />

diploma <strong>of</strong> art, film and television course. Value: $100 each.<br />

The Margery Withers scholarship<br />

Available for the second year <strong>of</strong> the diploma <strong>of</strong> art, graphic design course.<br />

Value: $100.<br />

U.S.P. Needham scholarship<br />

Awarded to an outstanding student proceeding to the second year <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Diploma <strong>of</strong> Art, Film and Television course. Value: $102.<br />

Society <strong>of</strong> Chemical Industry <strong>of</strong> Victoria prize<br />

A prize <strong>of</strong> $25 and a certificate awarded to the student nominated by the<br />

department as the best student in the final year <strong>of</strong> the diploma <strong>of</strong> chemical<br />

engineering.<br />

Molyneux medal<br />

A prize <strong>of</strong> $30 and a silver medal suitably inscribed awarded to the student<br />

in the final year <strong>of</strong> the diploma <strong>of</strong> chemical engineering who presents the<br />

best process design thesis.<br />

F.W. Green memorial award<br />

Books to the value <strong>of</strong> $50 awarded by Engineering Faculty Board to the<br />

final year engineering student judged to be the outstanding student graduating<br />

that year.<br />
