Kent drop to 0 & 7
Kent Exiles 12 - East Kent Mavericks 12
18th July 2010
The Kent Exiles fell to 0-7 on the
season as they lost to the East Kent
Mavericks, a result which means that
the Exiles need to win their remaining
three games to avoid relegation.
The Mavericks offence dominated
an under strength Exiles defence all
day with their power running game,
a strategy which earned most of their
points on the day.
The Exiles scores came from the
ever reliable Sean Starwind on a
pass from quarterback Zac Ritchie,
and Jon Miller who became only the
second Exile to return a kick-off for a
touchdown in the clubs long history.
Following the game Coach Dave
Pester was in a reflective mood “this
exiles’ Jon miller returns A KiCK-oFF For A td
was a big game for us, and we didn’t
really turn up and play the game we
know we can play. The rest of the
season is now about Pride, and I’ll
have pride in each and every one of
the team who turn up to training and
games and give their all, that’s what
being part of a team is all about”.
The Exiles now conclude their
season with three away games at the
Mavericks, Cardinals and Gladiators.
