The least problematic guests, according to Lucy, are
those that make it clear from day one what kind of relationship
they expect to have with the crew.
“Some guests want interaction with the crew, and others
want complete privacy. And we, of course, respect their
wishes,” she said. “It can be quite hard to gauge what
they want, and what they expect, but it’s vital to do that
from the start.
“I prefer participation,” Lucy added. “It’s more fun, and
it makes the job more interesting and enjoyable.”
And the very best guests of all? “Those who give
thoughtful tips,” Lucy said, with a grin. “It doesn’t have
to be a big amount. The most memorable thank yous are
personal ones where the client has really thought about
us as individuals.”
