December 22 or 29 - Depart from
local pick up points and travel to
France / Germany for an overnight
stopover.
December 23 or 30 - Continue to
Austria for our 4 night dinner, bed
and breakfast stay. Accommodation
has been reserved at a carefully
selected 4* hotel in western Austria.
Typical of the resorts we use is
Bregenz or similar. All hotels have a
bar and restaurant. Rooms all have
private facilities.
Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve
– today our tour takes in Fussen and
Hohenschwangau. Travel across the
German border into Bavaria and the
lovely town of Fussen. Time for a
photo stop at Hohenschwangau –
home to the fairytale
Newuschwanstein Castle.
Christmas Day or New Year’s Day
– enjoy amazing views and a truly
memorable ride aboard the Swiss
Glacier Express.

Travel in comfort through the unspoilt
natural beauty of the landscape with
spectacular mountain forests, alpine
meadows, rushing mountain streams
and valleys. We travel from Chur to
Andermatt via the Oberalp Massif.
Later call in at Vaduz – capital of
Liechtenstein.
Boxing Day or January 2 - Today
we have included an excursion to the
winter resort of St Anton. Here you
can take a cable car ride and enjoy
the atmosphere. As well there will be
the chance to join a horse and
carriage ride around the local area,
(at extra cost), £20 per person.
December 27 or January 3 – bid a
fond farewell and travel to France /
Germany for an overnight stopover.
December 28 or January 4 - Return
home.

Christmas & New Year in Spain
3* Maripins Hotel - Malgrat de Mar
The Maripins Hotel in the charming
resort of Malgrat has for many years
been a traditional Harry Shaw
favourite. It is set just across the
road and railway from the beach at
relaxing Malgrat. Features include a
tree shaded patio, bar and
restaurant. All of the comfortable
rooms have private shower or bath
and balcony. There is a spacious
lounge and entertainment is provided
on some evenings. From the hotel
you can wander along the lovely
promenade to the nearby resort of
Santa Susanna or into the centre of
Malgrat.
Days 1 and 2 - Ddepart locally in the
morning and travel by coach via the
motorway to the Channel port. After
our ferry sailing we travel south
through France, past Paris, Lyons
and Nimes, crossing Spain and
passing Gerona to arrive in Malgrat
on day 2.
Days 3-11 - We have arranged a
spectacular festive and excursion
programme. All this is included:
• A visit to the famous Cliffside
monastery at Montserrat – the
home of the famous ‘Black
Madonna’
Malgrat de Mar
• Sunday, 27 December – a visit to
Catalunya’s largest open air
market at Tordera
• A visit to Gerona – one of the
Costa Brava’s most historic cities
• A visit to the stunning city of
Barcelona with its wealth of
beautiful buildings, parks,
cathedral and the legendary
‘Ramblas’
• A morning visit to the picturesque
resort of Tossa de Mar with free
time to explore the historic castle
and narrow, cobbled streets
flanked by colourful pavement
restaurants
• Gala dinner on Christmas Eve
• Gala lunch on Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner
followed by celebrations. Limited
wine included with gala meals
Days 12 and 13 - Check out of the
hotel after breakfast and travel
through the night to the UK. Arrive
back in your local area during the
morning of day 13.
