Enjoy a New Year break with a
difference staying at the top class
Novotel Leuven Centrum. Leuven is
a picturesque city of art with a rich
historical and cultural past. There
are a whole host of bars, restaurants
etc.
We start with a local departure for
our journey via the cross Channel
ferry or Eurotunnel for the continent.
We make our way directly to Leuven
where accommodation has been
reserved for 3 nights on a bed and
buffet breakfast basis at the top class
Novotel. All rooms have private
facilities and TV and hotel features
include a bar, restaurant and
wellness area. The hotel is located
in walking distance of the town centre
with its town hall, old market and
Treasury of St Peter.
On day 2 we take you to the capital
of Belgium – Brussels – where there
will be time for sightseeing etc.
During the early afternoon we return
back to Leuven so you can prepare
for tonight’s New Year’s Eve
celebrations. During the early
Leuven
evening we have included a dinner.
This starts with an aperitif, (a glass of
sparkling wine, beer, soft drink, wine
or juice). This is followed by a 3
course meal including 3 drinks – a
choice of either wine, beer, soft
drinks or water. Afterwards there is
coffee and tea. Following dinner you
can make your own way into the
centre of Leuven with its choice of
bars etc.
Day 3 is at leisure for you to again
explore Leuven.
On day 4 we have an early departure
as we make our way to historic
Bruges. Known as ‘the Venice of the
North’ the town is renowned for its
canals, historical buildings and
superb chocolates! Afterwards we
make our way home arriving back
later on.

New Year in the Black Forest
Ring in 2012 in the picture postcard
surroundings in Germany’s Black
Forest. There is so much to see and
enjoy from breathtaking scenery to
historic buildings and towns.
We start with a local departure in the
early hours of the morning and travel
via the cross Channel ferry or
Eurotunnel to the Black Forest region
arriving in the mid to late evening.
On day 2 we have included a visit to
Strasbourg – where the Christmas
markets will still be in full swing.
There is a delightful maze of canals,
cobblestones and Mediaeval houses,
especially in the ancient ‘Petite
France’ quarter. The magnificent
Gothic cathedral of Notre Dame
offers wonderful views from its
rooftop platform. Don’t miss the
more modern buildings of the
European Parliament and the council
of Europe. Dinner is included
tonight.
On New Year’s Eve join our optional
excursion to the historic Black Forest
capital – Freiburg, with its towering
minster and its pretty old quarter
criss crossed by tiny streams. We
will also visit the idyllic town of
Strasbourg
Staufen im Breisgau – home to the
legendary Dr Faust, with its colourful
painted buildings, historic hillside
vineyards and ruined castle. Price -
£9.95 per person. Tonight we have
a gala dinner to see in the New Year,
followed by entertainment. Enjoy the
revelries with your friendly hosts and
fellow travellers.
On New Year’s Day we have
included a visit to the pretty lakeside
resort of Titisee and wood carving
town of Triberg – famous for its
cuckoo clocks. Dinner included
tonight.
Please Note: Local traditions may
mean that New Year’s Day is quiet
and shops and restaurants are
closed. Hotels – as is traditional with
hotels in the area, twin rooms may
consist of a double bed with 2
separate mattresses.
Accommodation may be offered in
either the main buildings or nearby
annexes/guest houses. Meals will be
taken in the main building. If any
aspect of the programme is not
