11. If <strong>the</strong> adjutant desires to verify <strong>the</strong> detail when it<br />
reports he commands, "Call off." The detail calls off in <strong>the</strong><br />
following order from rear to front: Scout private No. 1; Scout<br />
private No. 2; Scout private No. 3; Scout Corporal No. 1;<br />
Scout Corporal No. 2; Scout Corporal No. 3; Agent "C"<br />
Battery; Agent "B" Battery; Agent "A" Battery; Musician;<br />
Sergeant Major.<br />
12. If <strong>the</strong> battery details are directed to march at <strong>the</strong> head of<br />
<strong>the</strong> column, <strong>the</strong> captains and <strong>the</strong>ir orderlies follow <strong>the</strong> orderlies<br />
of <strong>the</strong> major and <strong>the</strong> adjutant; and <strong>the</strong>ir details, in <strong>the</strong> order of<br />
<strong>the</strong>ir batteries in column of route, follow <strong>the</strong> battalion<br />
detachment as formed in paragraph 10. The battalion signal<br />
detail and reel cart follow <strong>the</strong> last battery detail.<br />
13. Whenever <strong>the</strong> major is to leave <strong>the</strong> battalion without<br />
taking <strong>the</strong> captains, he ei<strong>the</strong>r assembles and informs <strong>the</strong>m or he<br />
informs <strong>the</strong> senior captain or <strong>the</strong> commanding officer of <strong>the</strong><br />
leading battery as to:<br />
1. Any later developments or orders regarding <strong>the</strong> situation<br />
or problem (par. 9).<br />
2. Whe<strong>the</strong>r captains will come forward at once or wait until<br />
sent for.<br />
3. Route to be followed:<br />
(a) "Bring <strong>the</strong> battalion on and halt at ____________"<br />
(designating place and route of approach, or<br />
indicating same on<br />
a map), or<br />
(b) "I will mark <strong>the</strong> route," or<br />
(c) "Battery details will assist by connecting."<br />
