Figure 4.9: Sample location map. Three segments are identified south of
Menard TF, S1‐S3, and six segments to the north, N1‐N6. Segments are
limited by overlapping spreading centers �OSC� marked by grey thick line
segments. For each ridge segment, an insert illustrates the typical cross
section of the ridge �Klingelhöfer et al., 2006� at the latitude indicated.
SegmentsS2 and N2 are atypical in their structure and their cross section is
shown in grey. Symbols are open south of Menard TF, closed north of it.
Triangle symbols are used for segments S3 and N1 on both sides of
Menard TF. Circle symbols are used for both atypical segments S2 and N2.
All symbols are specific to each segment and are kept the same in all
figures.
