fought in the battles of Cantigary and Soissons and was wounded in action and died July 20,
1918.
The collection consists of correspondence of Oliver Vie, primarily to his sister, Grace
Ashton, documenting his service in the army along the Mexican border and later in France
during World War I. It also includes correspondence between his sister and officials regarding
Vie’s MIA status and death.
