STUART TERRACE/ATHERTON CRESCENT ACCOMMODATION
COMPLEX
We have now reached a significant milestone in the construction of the new
Stuart Terrace accommodation complex. Currently 30 of the 42 rooms are in
place, and Stage 1 of the project continues to remain on track for completion
by the 31 st August, despite having incurred several weather delays.
USHER TERRACE ACCOMMODATION FACILITY
After waiting almost 18 months since we lodged an application with Ergon
Energy for connection of electricity supply, the Usher Terrace accommodation
facility was finally connected to the electricity grid on the 1 st July 2011. We
would like to acknowledge the efforts of Brad from All Electrical Services, in ensuring the smooth transition from
generator to grid supply during the changeover.
SMOKING IN THE TOWN SQUARE
Last month we asked for public opinion and comment regarding a proposal to make the town shopping centre a
smoke free zone. To date we have received several comments/opinions all of which favour “smoke free”. If you
have an opinion, we would be keen to listen to your views.
REPAIR WORKS IN TOWN CENTRE
We are currently in the process of replacing the aged timber steps in the town square. Works, where practicable
will be undertaken over weekends so as to provide minimal disruption to shoppers and retail store owners – please
observe and comply with ALL safety barricades and signage, and ensure your children are supervised at all times
while work is being completed.
UNLOCKING OF ACCOMMODATION (INCLUDING AFTER HOURS)
Should you inadvertently lock your keys inside your house, flat or SPQ please call Morris Corporation (at the
cafeteria) on 4958 9229 and the duty manager will arrange to unlock. The unlocking of accommodation
should not be referred to our maintenance contractor, RD Services.
