Alan Dyer, Astronomer/Dome Producer, Telus Spark,<br />

<strong>the</strong> new Science Centre. Topic, “The Milky Way and Beyond”<br />

Astronomy basics - Did you know <strong>the</strong>re is much more<br />

out <strong>the</strong>re besides <strong>the</strong> Sun and its planets? The menu will include<br />

shepard’s pie, vegetables, buns, carrot cake, coffee & tea.<br />

11:30 am | wednesday, <strong>February</strong> 6 th<br />

Brian Keating is back! Outstanding speaker and <strong>Calgary</strong> Zoo’s<br />

Honourary Conservation Advisor <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir outreach efforts, as well<br />

as part-time Adjunct Assistant Professor of Anthropology at <strong>the</strong><br />

U. of C. Topic: “Hiking with Asses” - Just like heli-assisted hiking but<br />

not as high-tech. Journey in<strong>to</strong> Asia, Africa and South America and<br />

celebrate our wild world, mountain landscapes and <strong>the</strong> wildlife<br />

that lives <strong>the</strong>re. Note: $10.00/person surcharge for this luncheon.<br />

The menu includes caesar salad and mixed greens, meat lasagna,<br />

garlic <strong>to</strong>ast, apple strudel, coffee and tea.<br />

11:30 am | wednesday, March 6 th<br />

Topic: SAIT, Boris Dragicevic, Associate Vice President, Facilities<br />

Management and Campus Expansion will join us <strong>to</strong> discuss <strong>the</strong><br />

SAIT expansion. The menu includes: mixed greens, roast pork loin<br />

with a blackberry cabernet sauce, pota<strong>to</strong>es, vegetables, buns, lemon<br />

meringue pie, coffee & tea.<br />

<strong>January</strong> 18, <strong>2013</strong> - Marybeth Williams. The <strong>to</strong>pic will be<br />

travel in Equador and <strong>the</strong> Peru Galapogos Islands.<br />

<strong>February</strong> 22, <strong>2013</strong> - Jackie St George Rennie, CWC Sport<br />

Physical Therapist, will share her experiences at <strong>the</strong> London<br />

2012 Paralympic Games. She will be presenting with Jaye<br />

Milley, Paralympic Cyclist, and Earl Connor, Paralympic<br />

Sprinter, who will be sharing <strong>the</strong>ir experiences at <strong>the</strong><br />

Paralympics and <strong>the</strong> lead-up <strong>to</strong> <strong>the</strong> Games.<br />

March 22, <strong>2013</strong> - Glenn Dixon (member Bud Dixon’s son)<br />

has written his second book on <strong>the</strong> effects of music on<br />

civilizations. He has travelled <strong>the</strong> world <strong>to</strong> aid in his research.<br />
