• Revisions made to the Mission should be noted accordingly. Also, "Core
Strategies" and "Vision" were introduced; therefore, this clause should be revised
accordingly.
• Revisions were made to the Goals; therefore, this clause should be revised
accordingly.
• Revisions were made to the activities; therefore, this clause should be revised
accordingly.
• The APN must find ways to strengthen member governments’ sense of
partnership and ownership, including increased efforts to determine their policy
needs and priorities relating to global change.
• The roles of each organ within the Framework should be reviewed.
• The role of the "Small Group," which was implemented to pre-process proposals,
should be clearly defined.
• The APN must increase on-going communications between national Focal Points,
SPG members, Liaison Officers and the Secretariat. It must also strengthen the
role of the IGM, to develop a more interactive relationship with national Focal
Points, and to strengthen the role of national Focal Points within the APN and the
global change research community (science and policy-making). Revisions to the
Framework Document should be made accordingly.
• The APN should consider reforming the Steering Committee to enhance its ability
to provide guidance to the APN in the months between IGM sessions. Revisions
should be made according to the suggested reform.
• The APN should consider reforming the Secretariat. Revisions should be
considered accordingly.
A Resources Development Committee, which would fall under the umbrella of the
Steering Committee, should be established. Revisions should be considered
according to the outcome of discussion on the committee.
