Sensational Singapore
THE FOUR SEASONS HOTEL on Orchard Road exists in a serene calm
within walking distance of the throbbing heart of one of the world’s great
cities. It is quintessentially Singapore, at once Asian and international; turning
a contemporary face to the world and yet preserving inside, a decorous,
timeless, Asian grace and elegance of architecture and décor accentuated
with some 1500 Asian and international art works.
The refurbished guestrooms are high ceilinged, spacious and presented in
earthy mocha, beige and ivory, accented with burgundy and decorated with
Asian infl uences. Naturally, they have a comprehensive array of the very
latest in electronics – fl atscreen TV, MP3 player, high-speed internet, international
sockets – you name it.
Banquet brunches dominate the weekends in the restaurants. Highlight of
the week in the Bistro Grill is the Sunday Champagne Brunch – although
the daily selection of local and international cuisine is popular on any day.
The Weekend Oriental Brunch in the Jiang-Nan Chun is a 101-dish dim sum
overload. Jiang-Nan Chun is a classical Cantonese restaurant offering dim
sum lunches and a la carte dinners. The indoor/outdoor bar and alfresco area
brings an echo of the elegant past with its light snacks, cocktails and teas.
The Four Seasons has a spa, 24-hour gym, two swimming pools and four
tennis courts (two indoor and air conditioned) plus signifi cant conference
facilities with spaces for between 10 and 450 in the two ballrooms, boardrooms
and meeting rooms plus rooftop banquet rooms.
