were all around us – houses painted in their green, pink and blue pastel colours<br />

and a charming mix of old England and modern day. Two days in port gave us the<br />

opportunity for extended sightseeing (although we eschewed the organised tours), in<br />

Bermuda and Hamilton and lunching on Bermudian lobster.<br />

Gustavia (St Barts) gave us a day in town and Sunday at the beach with white sands<br />

and crystal clear waters and a balmy 31°C. At St Lucia, we reminded ourselves that<br />

sampling local dishes is a traveller’s duty. Accordingly we chose to while away our day<br />

with a long lunch of Pepper Pot Stew and Callaloo Soup.<br />
