were all around us – houses painted in their green, pink and blue pastel colours
and a charming mix of old England and modern day. Two days in port gave us the
opportunity for extended sightseeing (although we eschewed the organised tours), in
Bermuda and Hamilton and lunching on Bermudian lobster.
Gustavia (St Barts) gave us a day in town and Sunday at the beach with white sands
and crystal clear waters and a balmy 31°C. At St Lucia, we reminded ourselves that
sampling local dishes is a traveller’s duty. Accordingly we chose to while away our day
with a long lunch of Pepper Pot Stew and Callaloo Soup.
