Security If you are a root user: 1. You may issue the mmlsfs command from any node in the GPFS cluster. 2. When using the rcp and rsh commands for remote communication, a properly configured .rhosts file must exist in the root user’s home directory on each node in the GPFS cluster. If you have designated the use of a different remote communication program on either the mmcrcluster or the mmchcluster command, you must ensure: a. Proper authorization is granted to all nodes in the GPFS cluster. b. The nodes in the GPFS cluster can communicate without the use of a password, and without any extraneous messages. 3. As root, a user can also issue the mmlsfs on remote file systems. If you are a non-root user, you may specify only file systems that belong to the same cluster as the node on which the mmlsfs command was issued. Examples If you issue the mmlsfs command with no options for the file system gpfs1: mmlsfs gpfs1 The system displays information similar to this.
